Comprehensive Prenatal Classes for families birthing on Vancouver Island
BIRTH & BABY PREP
​​From vaginal home births to cesarean births in the hospital, bottle-feeding to chest/breastfeeding, there is a wide range of birthing and parenting options and experiences available to families in the Cowichan Valley.

​If you're feeling overwhelmed and don't know where to start in the preparation for your transition to parenthood, the Birth & Baby Prep classes have you covered.

Over 300 families in the Cowichan Valley have benefitted from the comfort measures, tips & tricks, and information provided in the Cowichan Doula Birth & Baby Prep Series.​

Classes include all materials, and can be easily tailored to your family's needs.
All classes are available as private sessions in addition to group workshops and are suitable for families between 28-38 weeks along.

Part 1 Includes an overview of vaginal and cesarean births, medical and natural comfort measures, tips and tricks for partners, as well as what to expect in the first couple days postpartum.

Part 2 Includes an overview of postpartum healing, infant feeding options including tips and tricks for success, infant care and expectations (sleep, soothing, diapering, bathing, and safety), and car seat setup and use.

Group Class $250 per Family
Group classes are held at The Fort Game Cafe in Duncan.

Spring
April 28th, May 5th, & 12th (6-8:30pm)
Summer
July 1st (9:30-5pm)
OR
July 7th, 14th, & 21st (6-8:30pm)
Private Class $275 per Family
Private classes are held in the comfort of your home.

​Classes are FREE for clients using the BC Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program.
